Re-al Hastings originaly opened in 1976, followed by Re-al Eastbourne
in 1982 & then Re-al Brighton in 1985!!!
Re-al has been around along time & prides itself on good honest
advice & quality products from the likes of Es, Etnies, Lakai,
Chocolate, DC, Powell, Habitat, Alien Workshop, Flip, Independent,
Venture, Royal, Girl, Spitfire, We ,Enjoi, DVS, Emerica, New Era,
Blueprint, Matix, Landscape, Fourstar & Zoo York.
In the early days we were amoung the first shops in the UK to stock
Vans (handmade in Cali), G&S boards, Kyptonics, tracker trucks alongside
old school originals from nike and adidas.
Back in the 1970's Brighton skaters would skate the Original Churchill
Square, Market Rooftop,Cannon Street car parks, the infamous Barn,
Cage & Brighton Seafront. The Level Skatepark with the OG Mull
Bowl was born in 1979/1980.
The Level's Monster Vert Ramp (Half-Pipe) was built in the mid-1980's
by Re-al owner Dave Beeden & his brother Harry with help of
local skaters such as Andy Binns, Ian Deacon (Flip) & Don Brown(ES/Etnies).
Over the years Re-al has had Pros from H-street, Powell Peralta,
Flip, Vans, ES, Etnies, Emerica, Blueprint & Lakai stop by the
shop. In recent years skaters like Ali Boulala, James Gardner, Ben
Grove, JB, Danny Wainwright & Tom Penny have chilled on the
re-al bench, Ali Boulala used to sleep in our stockroom after a
big night out in Brighton!
Don Brown of Es, Emerica, Etnies pops in once or twice a year to
say hello & & have an odd beer, or two, or three!!! Enjoi... |
